About Me

Thanks for taking a few moments to find out a little bit about me. My name is Robert Lilley and I live in Southend, Essex.

I’m what you might call a late starter in photography, not really getting truly involved with the mechanics of photography until I was in my late 20’s.

At that time I became Media Manager at Great Wakering Rovers FC, producing everything from a website, matchday programme and of course, photographs from the game.

In all honesty, photography has always been close to my heart. . From the hundreds, if not thousands of photographs that were taken of my first born, to family holidays, a camera was never far from my grasp.

I”ve been at a few clubs ever since but photography has always been very close to my heart and starting ‘Offside Photography’ was a means to bring good exposure to grassroots clubs.

I am a keen landscape photographer too, taking in sunrise and sunsets around Essex and also our holidays, but football photography and the challenges that brings, has always been my mainstay.

I try and get to as many clubs and grounds as possible and being accredited by the National League, Isthmian League, Essex Senior League and the Essex Olympian League, ensures that I can build a close affiliation with participating clubs.

I am currently the Media Manager for Catholic United FC, and have been for the past 3 seasons. However, whilst Saturdays are spent with the first team there, I have also visited Burnham Ramblers FC, Walthamstow FC, May & Baker FC, Buckhurst Hill FC and I’m soon hoping to visit Southend United and Leyton Orient if discussions go well.
