The season finished on a high for my little club, Catholic United. A runner-up spot in the Essex Olympian League Premier Division, a league cup final win, a cup final win four our ‘A’ team and another promotion for our Saturday veterans side.
The close season gave me time to look at the Offside Photography website and I didn’t plan it, but it confirmed initial thoughts that the site needed to be refreshed. Not only is the site having a facelift, but without football on Saturday’s, it means I can immerse myself in my other photographic passion, landscapes.
Now the majority of Essex is pretty much as flat as a snooker table, so finding locations that inspire the mind is always a good challenge. Getting up early to grab a sunset, to see the world waking up, the wildlife warming up their vocal cords, is so good for the soul. To capture that moment in a photograph brings me closer to nature and I love the fact I have the opportunity to do so.
